Please use this thread to add your link just below the main content on the Forum Leaders home page. Please note that these are "dofollow" links.

The current price for 1 month is: 150 forum credits (Credit Information) - Up to 6 months can be purchased at a time.

Please note that as the forum grows and the demand increases, the number of credits required for this ad space will increase. Please check the current rate immediately before requesting a link as this rate can and WILL change periodically to maintain balance.

To purchase a slot, please reply to this thread using the following format:

    Requirements
    • The site must be online at the time of submission. We will not link to sites that don't exist.
    • Affiliate links are not allowed.
    • You must own the site.
    • Only one link per member will be active at one time.
    • Reselling this ad space is not allowed. Anyone caught selling these slots will have their links removed and will be banned without warning.
    • Inappropriate content will not be linked. This includes porn, warez, gambling sites, etc.
Once your link is placed, your credits will be deducted.

If you're curious when your link expires, the dates can be seen by viewing the source of the index page. Each link has an HTML comment next to it indicating it's expiration.

Keywords: Learn Japanese @ JRPG Club

Thanks! (I'm not sure if this was what you were looking for with "Keywords." Even just the title, "The JRPG Club" would be fine.)

Sorry about the long delay getting this up, I've been traveling for the last 2 weeks with limited Internet access. I'll have it up within 24 hours.

I've been leaving them for more than a month anyways, since nobody is really using this feature. It may disappear at some point since it's just wasting resources but in the meantime I'll leave the current links up.

Alright. Maybe if the links were in a more prominent spot, people would use the feature more though? Like in the sidebar instead of the footer. I'm surprised people aren't more interested in essentially free advertising. It's not like it's going to hurt them.

The main purpose is the fact that they're "dofollow" links, so placement wouldn't matter as much. ;)

True, but because they're temporary, that's not really where people are going to focus. If it was a permanent do follow link, then no one would care where it was. For temp links, though, placement is everything because you're relying on people to see and be able to click it.

The original intent was that it's more beneficial for regular members since it could be maintained permanently by posting 35 times a month, or 9 times a week... less if you're creating threads.

On that note, I feel it's probably best to remove this add-on (forum credits) for 3 reasons.
    • It seems that very few people (1 to be exact) have actually used this feature so the add-on is essentially just wasting resources.
    • As the forum grows, there will eventually become a point where it's impossible to allow the number of links that would be purchased meaning it would have to be removed anyways.
    • Since text links are now being sold here (they'll be more likely to fill up as the forum grows), having a large list of additional "dofollow" links would oversaturate the site and potentially hurt it's own ranking.

Rather than just deleting it now and wasting everyone's current forum credits, I'll leave it open for a couple of weeks to give everyone the chance to at least use up some of their points. We'll go with September 15th, 2012 as a deadline. Any purchases made before that will be added to the list and left up for roughly 3 months instead of one, to possibly help reduce some of the annoyance or inconvenience this may cause. ;)

I'd rather not go with buying links for more than 3 months (at the cost of one), but if you have multiple sites you can list a few them to help burn points.

I don't think we have enough people yet for it to be utilized quite as much as you'd hope. I wouldn't ditch the idea entirely yet. And later, no, you won't be able to have everybody's links of course.... but you could limit the spots or charge higher amounts for those spots.

The problem with those two methods is that limiting the number of spots would be difficult because points would just start accumulating until there's a huge waiting list, and increasing the price to the ridiculous amount required would mean nobody would be able to buy out more than a month at a time. This would make the benefit of "dofollow" links a bit pointless.

Ok I'm weird. So I've decided to leave this in place for now and see if I can re-work it into something slightly different. In the meantime, I've bumped the price up to 150 credits since the previous pricing seems way too low. That works out to roughly 50-75 posts depending on how many are new threads.

Hey, can I get my site up on this?
    Site URL: http://sleektalk.com
    Keywords: Talking in the Sleek
Thanks in advance, this seems like a pretty interesting thing to use points for and could benefit greatly to some website owners. Quick question, how do you verify that I own the site?

Your site has been added for a minimum of 30 days.

I assume that you'd rather advertise your own site instead of someone else's. ;)
